I do not choose the path of least resistance
I do not choose the path of least resistance.
I do not drift with the current simply because it is easy or convenient. I do not surrender to silence when my voice is needed, nor turn away when compassion is called for. The easy road often asks for nothing, risks nothing, and changes nothing. That is not the path I walk.
I choose love over hate—not because love is always simple, but because hate corrodes the spirit. Love builds bridges, opens hearts, and brings healing where there was once hurt.
I choose compassion over greed—because compassion lifts others up, while greed isolates and diminishes. In a world that often glorifies self-interest, I choose to see and serve the needs of others, knowing we rise together.
I choose forgiveness over vengeance—not to forget wrongs, but to free myself from the chains of anger. Yet I still seek justice. Justice restores balance. It demands accountability, but not at the cost of my own humanity. Forgiveness and justice can walk hand in hand.
I choose common sense over prejudice—because truth is not found in blind judgment or inherited hatred. It is found in clear vision, in listening, in the courage to question and to grow beyond ignorance.
I celebrate infinite diversity—in cultures, in beliefs, in identities, in dreams. I honor infinite love—the unbreakable thread that binds us all beyond our differences. And I uphold infinite choice—for everyone, because freedom is not a gift to be hoarded, but a right to be shared.
This is the path I walk. Not because it is easy. Not because it is without struggle. But because it is true. Because it is just. Because it is the only path that leads to a world where we can all stand in the light together.
And I will not turn away.
